Rueda De Casino

Rueda De Casino

Rueda is a wheel dance. It was developed in Havana, Cuba in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Pairs of dancers form a circle, with dance
moves called out by one person, a caller ( a king of the circle or ‘LĂder’ or ‘cantante’ in Spanish). Many moves have hand signs to
complement the calls; these are useful in noisy venues, where spoken calls might not be easily heard. Many of the moves involve the
swapping of partners in different fancy variations. If the Rueda has too many couples, it is possible to make a Rueda inside a Rueda. But, above all, with or without a strict organization of a Rueda, remember that the entire purpose of the Rueda is to have fun with your friends.
